Nathanael & Jamie Engagement

I've had the pleasure of knowing Nathanael for about 10 years now, racing with each other in Northern California's road cycling scene all the way back to when I was a junior. When I got the message about his planned proposal at Donner Lake, I jumped on the opportunity. First of all, it's great to do something for a friend, and secondly, it was another great reason for me to make a trip up to the mountains! I made a day of it, arriving at Donner Pass around noon, taking in the views, popping up the drone (almost chopping my fingers in the rotors on landing!), and coffee at Wild Cherries in Truckee (always a go-to when I'm in the area!). I met up with Nathanael about a half hour beforehand so I knew the exact location and also so he could stash his guitar. Then it was go time. Nathanael and Jamie snowshoed out, he busted out the guitar and sang a song, then out came the ring, and the the snow started to fall! Happy to be a part of their special moment. Congrats Nathanael and Jamie!
